Currently at Art’s House - Art to Wear & Visible Mending

Art’s House Gallery will present Art to Wear & Visible Mending, a fabulous show exhibiting the work of ten regional artists who proudly patch, sensationally stitch, and wear art on their sleeves. Show dates are Thursday, March 14, 2024 to Saturday, April 27, 2024

Our Meet the Artists reception for this show will be held on Thursday, March 21, from 6:00–8:00 PM. We’ll welcome the wonderful acoustic tunes of Tune Buggy along with light refreshments, good company, and great art.

In addition, CAB has teamed up with local River Falls thrift stores to do some fashion fundraising via a silent auction! Each thrift store agreed to contribute a special outfit for our Art to Wear show: Cypress Lundgren from Adoray's Treasures from the Heart styled some very vintage vibes, including an Emily Wetherby designer maxi wrap skirt in like-new vintage condition. Our Neighbor's Place pulled out a fantastically disconcerting fashion goddess in a pink jumpsuit. She's rocking some beautiful size 10 tangerine Coach wedges in very good used condition. Finally, Jaz Mangelsen of Turningpoint Second Chances thrift store created a stunning concept piece from donated handkerchiefs to help call attention to victim/survivor support services funded by Second Chances thrift store. Stop into the gallery now through April 20 to bid for your favorite outfit and support these great organizations!

Coming Up at Art’s House - Awakening

Summer right around the corner, and Art’s House Gallery will open our nature-themed featured artists' show, Awakening. Featured artists - Hannah Freeman, Kathy Reinartz, and Kara Wellman each offer a unique meditative dialogue that opens the viewer to the magnetic power of wonder and connection found in nature. Explore Hannah’s rich botanical paintings, Kathy’s bold colorful ceramics, and Kara’s plant- and animal-inspired natural stone and sterling silver jewelry in the gallery from Thursday, May 2, through Saturday, June 15.

The Meet the Artists reception for this show will be held on Thursday, May 9 from 6:00–8:00 PM. We’ll welcome the wonderful guitar music of Kiernan Tollefson along with light refreshments, good company, and great art. See you there!

Memories - July 2022 at Art’s House -
Benefit for the Children of Ukraine

The July show at Art's House helped fund Ukrainian children through a teacher's cooperative in Budva, Montenegro. All funds earned from this show were given to Paul L. Gavrilyuk, Founding President, REBUILD UKRAINE, and Theology professor at The University of St. Thomas. Rebuild Ukraine supports rehabilitation and education for Ukrainian children traumatized by the war. The organization funds a teacher's cooperative in Montenegro and Lithuania, and they will also be sending children to the Edelweiss summer camp in the Carpathian Mountains.

A story about Art’s House’s “Stand with Ukraine” exhibition was featured on KSTP on July 30. You can find the link here. (Note that the story mistakenly lists Kay Fritz as the gallery owner. The gallery is, of course, owned by CAB.)

Community Arts Base members (or anyone else) can also donate financially online or via check sent to CAB, P.O. Box 162, River Falls, WI 54022. Rebuild Ukraine is a 501(c)(3) organization, and their EIN is 88-1252115.
