Art’s House is excited to offer a full line of classes with something to appeal to just about everyone! See below for descriptions. (Missing information will be added as available.)
Fused Glass Heart Plate
Create a small plate with a heart pattern for a special gift. Learn the basic techniques of cutting glass. The plate will be created in class and arrangements for pick up/shipping will be made after the piece is kiln-fired. You may purchase additional ones for an additional cost during the class. Students may get paint on their clothes, so they should wear comfortable clothing. An N95 mask will be provided for mixing the glass enamel paints.

Artist bio: Elaine is the owner of This and That Glass and has been a glass artist for 20 years. You may have seen her selling her creations at local artist markets and stores. She has been teaching classes for over 5 years at various galleries and community education. She really enjoys seeing new students and seeing how they utilize the materials to create new designs.
Watercolor Painting Basics
A great introduction to the art of watercolor painting. Class lessons focus on getting students comfortable with painting techniques through demonstrations and hands-on work. John will discuss the basic materials used and the three stages that make up a watercolor painting. During this series, students will learn initial drawing methods, value studies, mixing colors, and various brush techniques. The primary goal of these classes is to enjoy the process of painting!

Instructor: John Grancorvitz
Artist bio: I'm largely a self-taught watercolorist who has been painting in the watercolor media since the mid-90s. I'm excited to apply my teaching skills to my passion, watercolor painting. I have been teaching beginning and intermediate watercolor classes for youth/adults since 2019. An avid outdoor enthusiast, many of my paintings reflect what I’ve observed on my numerous bike rides, hiking trips or everyday occurrences. I paint a wide range of subjects from landscapes, pet and people portraits to cityscapes.
Fused Glass Lanterns
During this fun class you will create and design a lantern. You will learn the basic techniques of pouring enamel and creating gorgeous panels for your lantern. The panels for your lantern will be created in class and arrangements for pick up/shipping will be made after the piece is kiln-fired. Students may get paint on their clothes, so they should wear comfortable clothing. An N95 mask will be provided for mixing the glass enamel paints.

Intermediate Embroidery
This three-class series is geared toward those with some embroidery experience who want to learn more. A sampler project will be provided which will incorporate several unique stitches. Please bring a 6-inch embroidery hoop, needle, and floss. Come enjoy the creativity and relaxation this ancient art form has to offer.

Artist bio: I have always enjoyed embroidery and I would like to see others find enjoyment, creativity and relaxation in this ancient art form.

Tiny Tapestry Teaser
Weave a charming tiny landscape during this two-part introductory workshop to the "slow art" of tapestry weaving. This is a great project for anyone who has a basic understanding of how to weave and wants some guided practice or wants some tips and tricks to bring their weaving skills to the next level. All materials are provided.

Instructor: Petra Guenthner-Johnson
Class minimum: 4
Artist bio: Petra Guenthner Johnson is a fiber artist who loves, lives, and works near the Kinnickinnic River in River Falls, WI. She studied art at the University of Wisconsin-Superior from 1998-2001 and finished her Bachelor of Science in Visual Arts at North Dakota State University in 2003. She believes art has the transformative power to foster deeper understanding, connection, and beauty in herself, others, and the world around her. In 2007 Petra began sharing her passion for art with people of all ages. Petra leads workshops for youth and adults through River Falls Community Arts Base, and The Phipps.
Teen Canvas Creations
Students will be guided through a beautiful 11x14 painting by Olivia and learn about how to use acrylic paint to mix and match colors. This step-by-step painting has something for the beginner AND advanced artist, as there will be many options for individualized fun! Show up ready to paint!

Mosaic Birdhouse Workshop
Welcome feathered friends into your yard with a beautiful Stained Glass Mosaic Birdhouse. Participants will adorn a wooden bird house with beautiful, random cut glass, tiles, gems and mirrors. Several options will be available to customize your project. Mosaic techniques and tips will be provided, as well as all supplies and design ideas. You will love this fun and easy way to create your very own work of yard art. Once you learn this technique, the options are endless. Participants will be sent home with grouting material and instructions. (Supply colors may change due to availability).

Instructor: Renee Reinardy
Class Minimum: 6
Artist bio: Renee has been providing art and craft classes to adults and children for the past 15 years. She enjoys passing on her experience with random projects through classes and activities in Minnesota and Wisconsin. She is always developing new crafting skills and is inspired by teaching others. The basic idea behind Renee’s classes is to remind people that anyone of any ability can be creative. Renee hopes her fellow crafters feel inspired by what they learn and keep creating after they leave class.
Maker’s Table
Let’s get together as a community of makers! Bring your sketchbook, drawing supplies, small painting, print-making, fiber-based project, or any materials that inspire you. All are welcome, regardless of experience!
