Jan Killian is a self-taught artist that loves color! Her love of nature and photography is the basis of her paintings, with a twist of imagination to bring about the whimsy in her art.

Jan's art is published in the book, Pigments of Your Imagination, has been featured in several magazines and on Wisconsin Life -Wisconsin Public Television. She has shown in juried art shows for the last 8 years in Wisconsin and Minnesota. You can find her art is in several galleries and shops throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Her mediums of choice are alcohol ink, watercolor, acrylic ink/paint and are painted on a variety of nonporous surfaces which brings out the vibrant colors that she loves.

Jan's first love has always been animals/birds. She worked as a certified veterinary technician, owned the Bed & Biscuit Boarding Kennel, office manager at Hunt Hill Audubon Sanctuary, shown in obedience trials with her Golden Retrievers and was a foster/training home to many rescued animals. She now enjoys life in Cumberland with her husband Barry, 1 rescue dog, 4 rescue cats, house rabbit, Russian tortoise and 4 birds while painting full time and teaching alcohol ink painting.
