I am a retired therapist who began woodturning as a retirement hobby. I live in Buffalo City, WI, and much of my wood is sourced from the nearby bluffs or from the prairies along the Mississippi River. I have worked with wood since childhood but have found the creative process involved in woodturning to be my passion, taking a piece of wood and deciding what is "inside" it, then figuring out how to best reveal that "something." I make functional pieces that will add beauty to day to day activities, artistic pieces designed to be decorative, and whimsical ones that are decorative but may even have a function!

Everything about wood interests me, its appearance, its grain, its texture and even its smell (even some woods with foul smelling sap will become beautiful and pleasing when dried and and made into something).
