I owned my first wood lathe before I graduated from high school. Now retired, I can say I have been at it a long time. It never gets old. I am constantly pushing myself, experimenting, taking my ideas and making them a reality. I like to use wood from Wisconsin, everything from Buckthorn to Sumac and any kind of burl. My range is ongoing, vases, urns, platters, necklaces and bowls. Some projects are just one piece of wood some are segmented. I will incorporate several kinds of wood and colored resin into a single project. For my finish I apply multiple coats of polyurethane to achieve a glass like effect. This is my passion; it is what I do every day. I enjoy taking a meaningless piece of wood and creating a work of art that will last and last.
